Why Sink When You Can Walk

The Lord confides in those who fear Him. He makes his covenant known to them.  Like Peter, we may have the drive to prove ourselves worthy to be called Christian , “little Christ”.  However, the world beats on us with everyday problems and situations which in turn can take our eyes off the prize.  Just like Peter, we begin to sink.  In my humble opinion, Peter did not go down slow.  Picture, if you can through the Fathers eyes, watching his obedient servant sink.  I was thinking about this early Sunday morning  and realize by taking our eyes off of the Lord, we to start to sink.  Maybe not as fast as he did but we still start to sink.

Is it the occasional glass of beer after work?  Or is it the television show that you would not admit you watch?  Or could it be the innocent flirting at the office, grocery store or even the bank?  The devil has laid snares all around us, if we take our eyes off of the one who is reaching out his nailed scarred hand for us.  We maybe to ashamed to lift our hand out to him but just like a child when we let go of everything around us, then he helps us to fly.  He embraces our weaknesses to strengthen  our daily walk so that through our own trials and tribulations we maybe able to help our brothers and sisters to avoid the daily traps that will plague one’s life both in and out of Christ.

So, friends keeps your eyes steadfast on the Lord.  And when you feel you are sinking, don’t be afraid to hold your hand out and allow the Lord to pull you up to your righteous place.  I want you to know.  For you are a child that Jesus did not think twice about dieing for so you could live forever.  In Romans 3:22 says  The righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe there is no difference for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace.

If you are a Christian, read these words.   Remember the next time you see someone doing something wrong, your actions may or may not be what causes them to repent.   If you chose to stare down at them for their sin, I can almost assure you it will be hard for them to see the “little Christ” that you claim to be.

If you are not a Christian, I want you to read Romans 3:22 again.  The righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.  There is no difference for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace.  God loved us so much he allowed His one and only Son to die for us.  John 3:16.  So, don’t be afraid to reach your hand out and ask  Jesus to pull you through what ever situation you find yourself in.  Jesus died for you personally.  Yes he loved you that much.  So, all He ask is for you to turn from your sins, repent, be baptized and allow the gift of the Holy Spirit to lead you in your daily walk to help you avoid the snares and traps the devil is going to throw in your path.  The Bible tells us Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us.  So, why sink when you can walk?

Hang in there because “We’re going to get there.”
